Maple School held its National Blue Ribbon Award ceremony on November 12. The award was presented to Maple Principal Samuel Kurtz, Superintendent Dr. Brian Wegley, and Physical Education/Wellness teacher Lynn Reimer in Washington, D.C. last week.
Mr. Kurtz stated, "Maple School (Mustang) families, students, and staff, you are exemplary in every sense of the word. Let this National Blue Ribbon award serve as an affirmation of your hard work and commitment to being the best version of yourself, and not as news that you are special. Each of you embodies what it means to be a Blue Ribbon School, not only through your test scores and executive functioning skills but through the manner in which you present yourself and how you treat others. There is no school or district more deserving of this award. Congratulations again to all stakeholders, and take time to appreciate the massive accomplishment we are celebrating today."
Superintendent Dr. Brian Wegley said, "I was so proud to represent Maple School and District 30 with Mr. Kurtz and Ms. Reimer at the National Blue Ribbon Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., and now today at Maple School! It reflects our unity, and commitment to our students, and the excellence of the District 30 Family!"
