Dear District 30 Family,
Our top priority continues to be the safety of our all students and staff. Due to unsafe travel conditions, District 30 will implement an eLearning Day on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. As you are probably aware, snow is falling in the Chicagoland area and is predicted for Monday night into Tuesday. Forecasted snow totals have significantly increased over the past day from a couple of inches to what is evolving to be a substantial accumulation event. More specific plans for students are shared below.
Full-Remote Students: Full-remote students will continue their typical schedule.
In-Person 3rd through 8th-Grade Students: In-person students will follow the same remote learning schedule used during the adaptive pause. Since students in 3rd through 8th grade typically have a school iPad at home, they will run asynchronous eLearning day following their daily schedule.
In-Person Kindergarten through 2nd-Grade Students: Due to the original weather forecast, most of our students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade do not have a school-issued iPad at home. Therefore, primary teachers will prepare asynchronous activities following our recent adaptive pause remote learning schedule. The details of the asynchronous learning day will be sent to parents via email no later than 8:40 AM. During the asynchronous school day, teachers will plan on checking in with each student or parent as possible to answer any questions regarding the assigned work. This can be accomplished via Zoom or phone.
In addition, Summer School 2021 registration was supposed to occur tomorrow starting at 10:00 am. Because we will be holding an eLearning day for students, we will be moving Summer School registration 2021 to Wednesday, February 17th.
