The students of District 34, District 31, District 30, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and St. Catherine Laboure are coming together in conjunction with Character Counts Week to collect food items for donation to the Northfield Township Food Pantry. We have set a community-wide goal of 10,000 food items. Collection boxes at Willowbrook will be located inside each entrance for the students to drop off goods. We will also have extra boxes in the front foyer. The Northfield Township Food Pantry has received tremendous community support meeting the needs of our residents during the pandemic.
Unfortunately, there are still significant challenges simply sourcing enough food in appropriate household sizes. Because of that, a food drive is especially welcome and needed this year. All items are welcome, but some items that are in greatest need are: canned proteins (tuna, chicken, salmon, beef stew), plain pasta, pasta sauce, pasta with meat (SpaghettiOs), beans, soups, rice mixes and shelf-stable potatoes. All donations must be unopened and unexpired. Cash and/or checks made out to the Northfield Township Food Pantry are always welcome and encouraged ($1 is equivalent to 5 cans!)
