Superintendent Dr. Brian Wegley's Weekly Update - February 11, 2022

Dear District 30 Family,

Thank you for your continued partnership! We had a good week of learning this week, and we appreciate everyone’s commitment to our students with this week’s Parent-Teacher Conferences. Our students continue to benefit as we keep them at the center of our efforts and collaboration.

I also appreciate everyone’s patience with the confusion over the recent appealed temporary restraining order. We are seeing local COVID-19 rates drop as we work with our Board on the thoughtful evolution of our mitigation strategies. We will keep you informed as we progress. We have had a great school year thus far and look forward to all the rest of the activities and celebrations that the year can offer. Our respect for each other and civility continue to model how to progress and move forward together thoughtfully.

Included below are a few notes as we continue on this journey:

COVID-19 Rates Remain High with Significant Declines: Northfield schools continue to track COVID-19 rates in the community on our Northfield Township COVID-19 Elementary School Local Public Health Dashboard. Although our rates remain high, it has been encouraging to register significant drops in local metrics. Our COVID-19 Case Dashboard will continue to be updated with cases on the date they occur. We are also thankful that we have seen cases impacting our students and staff decline.

School Support: Please don’t hesitate to reach out for help through our teaching staff should the need arise. Remaining connected and accessing the many resources in our community is a strength.

Thank you for your continued support. We will get through this time together! We remain incredibly proud of our educators and students!

Sincerely,

Dr. Brian K. Wegley
Superintendent
