Chess Club

Chess Club is an excellent opportunity for second through fifth grade students to learn and/or practice the fundamental problem-solving skills of chess in a low-key, friendly environment with other students at all levels of play. Students will learn the history of chess and basic rules of the game as well as some more advanced playing strategies. Chess Club includes two eight-week sessions in the winter and spring that meet after school once per week for one hour. Second and third graders are invited to attend the first session. The second session is for fourth and fifth grade students.
