Thank you for your interest in volunteering at District 30 Summer School! Volunteering in District 30's summer school provides wonderful learning experiences that can be beneficial in high school clubs, awards, honor groups, college applications, resumés, etc.
Who Can Volunteer?
High school students who have an interest in pursuing careers in education and enjoy working with children.
Dates & Time Commitment
The D30 Summer School Program will be held at Maple School for four weeks, five days a week with classes running from 8:30 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. Monday-Friday. See below for special dates and times:
- Friday, June 12: Mandatory Volunteer Orientation (11:00-11:45am)
- Monday, June 15: First Day of Summer School
- Friday, June 19: No Summer School
- Friday, July 3: No Summer School
- Friday, July 10: Last Day of Summer School
All volunteers must attend an orientation before starting summer school on Friday, June 12th from 11:00-11:45 a.m. Schedules will be handed out at the orientation and verification letters of hours completed will be made available on the last day of summer school.
Criteria for Selection
- Response(s) to essay questions on the application.
Be professional in your writing; make sure to proofread your work! - Recommendation from a current teacher.
Please ask the teacher before submitting their name. - An interest in education and working with children.
- Previous volunteer work at District 30 Summer School.
- Committed to the full four-week program.
