First Day Tips

Opening Day – Wednesday, June 11

  • Students in Block A should arrive at Maple School no earlier than 8:25 AM.

  • Please pick up your child within five minutes of their last class.

  • Medication Drop-Off:

    • Bring any medications (epi-pens, inhalers, allergy meds) to the school nurse on Tuesday, June 10 between 10 AM–12 PM, or drop them off on the first day of summer school.

Tips & Tricks

Start the summer strong with these parent-tested tips:

  • Print and pack a copy of your child’s schedule in their backpack. This was emailed to you Monday, June 9.

  • Review the pick-up location with your child ahead of time.

  • Display a sign in your car’s dashboard with the names of children you’re picking up to help staff move the line quickly.

  • Apply sunscreen at home, as students may go outside during the day.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

  • Please follow the attached traffic pattern map for drop-off and pick-up.

  • All students must enter and exit through the main entrance, with one exception.

  • The east entrance will be used for Pre-K through 2nd grade students for Block A arrival and Block D dismissal only. Parents may park in the parking lot and walk up at this entrance with younger students if desired.

  • Carpools with multiple age groups should use the youngest rider's grade location for drop-off and pick-up.

  • For car line dismissal at 12:25 PM:

    • Stay in your vehicle

    • Pull all the way forward

    • Avoid cell phone use

    • Follow all signage and use only designated areas

    • Drive slowly to ensure safety

  • Attendance is taken at the start of each class.

  • Students should go to class before visiting the nurse, unless it's an emergency.

  • Medication Policy:

    • No student may carry medication (except authorized inhalers & epi-pens).

    • Medications must be in labeled containers with doctor instructions and stored in the nurse’s office.

    • Medications must be picked up by a parent at the end of the program or will be discarded.
