Curriculum and Instruction

District 30's  Department of Curriculum and Instruction works with all of our educators to develop relevant and rigorous learning experiences for students. The District curricula is developed from both the Common Core State Standards and the Illinois Learning Standards. Students experience learning in a variety of ways and with many opportunities to explore, create and share their knowledge.

Our district utilizes data to target instruction to each child and to constantly challenge each child to learn and grow. This data also helps us to constantly review and improve our curricula.

All District 30 staff members participate in ongoing, job-embedded professional development to ensure that they remain current in their knowledge of research-based instructional practices. District 30 staff are also encouraged to pursue professional development based on their own interests as educators. As a school system, District 30 intends to foster and demonstrate the life activity of learning and our programming reflects that ideal.
