District 30's Department of Curriculum and Instruction works with all educators to develop relevant and rigorous learning experiences for students. The District curriculum is developed from both the Common Core State Standards and the Illinois Learning Standards. Students experience learning in a variety of ways and with many opportunities to explore, create, and share their knowledge.

The district utilizes data to target instruction to each child and to constantly challenge each child to learn and grow. This data also helps practitioners to constantly review and improve curricula.

All District 30 staff members participate in ongoing, job-embedded professional development to ensure that they remain current in their knowledge of research-based instructional practices. Staff members are also encouraged to pursue professional development based on their own interests as educators. As a school system, District 30 intends to foster and demonstrate the life activity of learning, and our programming reflects that ideal.
