Superintendent Dr. Brian Wegley's Weekly Update - February 5, 2021

Dear District 30 Family,

We hope that everyone had another good week! We know that we will reach the other side of this global pandemic together. Today, we completed our 17th week of in-person phased operations models as we continue to invest in our full-remote instruction. We continue to appreciate our teachers’ commitment, the engagement of our students, and our parents’ support.

Beginning next week, my weekly updates will return to being embedded within school newsletters.

This week’s Glenview/Northbrook COVID-19 Task Force Meeting included all governmental agency leaders from the township. I am thankful for our ongoing intergovernmental collaboration across our villages, and you can read the latest task force communication. It celebrates our Region 10 shift back to Phase 4 and includes key reminders for continued mitigation efforts during Super Bowl Sunday and some information on vaccines.

We have continued our downward trend in all local COVID-19 rates as Glenbrook hospitalizations continue to drop. We hope to continue this trend. Please continue to respect the risk this virus continues to pose by wearing masks, and social distance when you gather with anyone outside your household.

Here are a few notes as we continue this journey together:

Board Meetings: With Region 10’s shift back to Phase 4 and out of the additional tiered mitigations, our Board resumes in-person meetings at Maple’s Cafetorium on February 11 at 7:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome and will complete a health screening that includes a temperature check. All individuals present will be required to socially distance themselves with masks during the meeting.

Support: Please don’t hesitate to reach out for help through your teachers if and when the need arises. Remaining connected and accessing the many resources in our community is a strength.

Have a great weekend.

Warmly,

Dr. Brian K. Wegley
Superintendent
