Superintendent's Global Lesson Plan

Superintendent's Global Lesson Plan

Good morning, District 30!

As our teachers plan together today, we look forward to connecting with our students with our second Global Learning Lesson! This has been emailed to students as well. Help your children as needed.

Today’s Video Announcements

Assignments

Activity: Every day should include exercise. Pick an activity that gets your heart rate up. Pick two:

Learn to juggle.

Do as many jump ropes as you can (even if you use an invisible jump rope).

Walk outside and observe the weather and your surroundings. Write about or make a video about what you see.

Also, keep preparing for another wall sit challenge!

Life-Skills: Pick two:

Vacuum your house.

Post a unique recipe that you make for your family.

Help with a spring clean of closets, your garage, or your yard.

Gratitude: Watch this inspirational video of musicians reminding us that we are in this together! Together, we can do amazing things. Our efforts today will focus on the power we have to send a message of hope to COVID-19 patients. Please create and submit a “Get Well Soon” sign like the ones in the video from Maple’s Service Learning Club!

Curiosity: Do you play an instrument? Are you developing your painting skills? Are you interested in learning more about programming to create Apps? Are you wondering what Dark Matter is (like one of our fourth-grade students with whom I recently had a conversation)? Spend time (at least two hours for grades 5 through 8) doing something that you absolutely love. Feel free to review these Enhancement Ideas. You can spread the time out throughout the day in between other activities, meals, and snacks.

Short Reflection Post (Optional)

These activities for the day are encouraged to be completed by every student. The last link above is an optional way to provide a brief reflection on your day. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Dr. Brian K. Wegley
