District 30 Early Childhood Program

The District 30 Early Childhood Program is held at Willowbrook School. This integrated early childhood program is designed to support children’s social, language, cognitive/pre-academic, and motor development. The curriculum is aligned with readiness skills required for District 30 kindergarten program. Staffing includes a certified early childhood teacher and 2 program assistants. There is support from a speech-language pathologist, school psychologist, occupational and physical therapist.

Each classroom serves up to 16 students, including children with special needs and same-age peers. Research has shown that shared learning experiences have positive effects for both children with and without special needs. The program is based on best practices in early childhood education and aligned to the Illinois Early Childhood Learning Standards.
