Sodexo's Future Chef Competition will be held on March 16th
On Wednesday, March 16th, 2016, Sodexo will be hosting its 2nd annual Future Chef Competition. This is a culinary cooking competition for the 4th and 5th grade students of Wescott and Willowbrook elementary schools. After receiving over 40 recipe submissions, eight competitors were chosen to prepare their dishes of choice.
 
This year's recipe theme was to be that of a healthy breakfast item for the students to prepare. The chosen finalists and their recipe submissions are as follows...
  • Alex Burstein (Willowbrook) - Bacon Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich
  • Alexandra McGarry (Wescott) - Breakfast Sushi
  • Aubrie Krzus (Wescott) - Fruity Whole Wheat Pancake Tacos
  • Ella Shmarak (Wescott) - Pizza Flavored Scrambled Egg
  • Gabi Swidler (Willowbrook) - Outstanding Oven Chicken Salad in Tortilla
  • Katie Finan (Wescott) - French Toast a la Katie
  • Maia Abrahams (Willowbrook) - Maia's Berry Bake
  • Rachel Florek (Willowbrook) - Fresh Fruit Crepes

We would like to invite all to come and enjoy this fun event. You will not only have the opportunity to support our talented students, but also to sample their creations as they prepare their favorite breakfast recipe. Event judges will decide whose cuisine reigns supreme by evaluating on the following criteria: originality, healthy attributes, ease of preparation, kid appeal, plate presentation, use of featured ingredients, and of course taste.

The event begins at 5:00 p.m. and runs until about 7:00 p.m. Prizes will be handed out for the best dishes. Come and join us!
