Health Update on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) - May 15, 2020

Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 continues to partner with village leaders and agencies to work together on and respond to the evolving COVID-19 situation. This communication is from our task force. This week, we share some optimism, as we look ahead in our collaborative approach, to develop plans that will allow us to safely, carefully, and confidently reopen our community, as we move through the phases of Restore Illinois.

I continue to be thankful for the coordination and collaboration between our villages and leaders to help us navigate our current situation. Furthermore, I continue to be inspired and uplifted by all the care being shown by our community. Thank you! - Dr. Wegley

Our organizations continue to coordinate and share resources in addressing the present situation in our community. We also are looking ahead in our collaborative approach to developing plans that will allow us to safely and confidently reopen our community as we move through the phases of Restore Illinois.

Updates from Park Districts

Both the Glenview and Northbrook Park Districts report that the reopening of their golf facilities with COVID-19 restrictions has been safe and smooth. In Northbrook, Anetsberger Golf Course is open; in Glenview, the Glenview Park Golf Club is open, and the Glenview Prairie Club opened today for golf only (platform tennis remains closed at this time).

Both park districts have plans in place to open tennis and pickleball courts in the next week. Please check their websites (Northbrook and Glenview) for new guidelines on where to play and how to play safely.

Update From NorthShore University HealthSystem

NorthShore University HealthSystem reported a drop in the overall number of COVID-19-positive hospitalized patients, as well as a decrease in ICU patients and those on ventilators. However, the rate of positive COVID-19 tests, at just under 28% of those tested, is up slightly from last week.

As a reminder, if you or a family member show COVID-19 symptoms (listed on our website) you should:

Call 847-HEALTH9 (847-432-5849) and talk to a NorthShore clinical expert; or

Log onto NorthShoreConnect through the app on your mobile device or on the website (www.northshoreconnect.org/immediatecare).
