Wescott School’s second-grade show took place on February 20. It was titled, “Worldwide Wescott,” which is this year’s school theme.  During the show, the children celebrated the diversity that makes Wescott a worldwide school.  They sang the following songs during their performance:  "Worldwide Wescott," which was written by music teacher Quentin Coaxum, "Siyahamba," a South African hymn, "Mishka Kosolapy," a Russian children's song, "Czerwone Jagody," a Polish folk song, "Zhao Pengyou," a Chinese children's song, "De Colores," a Mexican folk song, "Mayim Mayim," an Israeli folk song/dance, "Chandamama," an Indian folk song, and "This Land is Your Land," an American folksong, written by Woodie Guthrie.

Second-grade teachers helped Mr. Coaxum coordinate the show. They include Xenia Stamoudis, Trish Palzet, Sallie Magruder, and Lisa Wolf. Library assistant Joan Marsh created the show’s backdrop scenery, and physical education teachers Christina Fee, Joe Burdi, and Roy Grober provided technical assistance. Art teacher Tia Stevens recorded the show, and social worker Cindy Habel assisted with the student performance.
