During the December 12 Board of Education meeting, the recent winners of the Character Counts poster and video contest were honored and received certificates of recognition from Board member Zivit Blonder. Assistant to Superintendent, Michele Pollina handed out a Character Counts t-shirt to each student.

They included Sophia Feng, Atticus Kim, Zachary Karchmar, Adriana Given, Claire Booker, Julia Booker, Marisa Chi, Joshua Cho, and Naomi Chang.

The Student Council, with Co-Chairs Lynn Reimer and Iris Zhang, also received special recognition from Board President Ursula Sedlak for their many service projects, which take place throughout the school year. They most recently raised over $1,500 to purchase gifts for needy children in Northfield Township.

Student Council members include Assistant Social Chair Ethan Pollack, Assistant Fund Chair Hanning Zhu, Social Chairperson Ethan Chiang, President Max Wadhwa, Vice President David Kang, Secretary Victoria Caputa, and Fund Chair Olivia Thursby.

Board President Ursula Sedlak stated, "These students are a testament to the great area that we live in and to the devoted parents that bring wonderful kids to our schools. These are children that want to be involved and give back to their communities. They make us so proud!"

A congratulatory chocolate cake was served to the Character Counts winners and Student Council afterward.
