Flu Information

As the weather starts to feel like winter has finally arrived, flu season has come as well. Student attendance reflects that the flu is here and parents have reported children with confirmed cases of influenza.

If your child complains of flu-like symptoms, contact your physician and help them to recover by following all medical advice and allowing them to fully recover before returning to school.

The influenza virus is spread by people as a result of close contact with others who are sick or by touching a surface that was contaminated by a sick person. Watch for the common symptoms listed below and follow the "Take 3" advice to keep everyone in your family healthy during this joyful holiday season.

The most common symptoms include:

  • Fever
  • Aches
  • Chills
  • Tiredness
  • Sudden Onset


"TAKE 3" to protect yourself and others against the flu:

  1. Frequently wash your hands with soap and water.
  2. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
  3. Take flu medications, if your physician prescribes them because they can stop the virus from spreading and shorten the time that you're sick.

Rest and recover by remaining at home until "fever free" for 24 hours.
