Heinemann Scholar to Lead Literacy Studio Sessions

Professional Development Program Supports Our Amazing Teachers!

District 30 has upheld a world-class, comprehensive, job-embedded professional development program for all faculty for many years.

Led by Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Melissa Hirsch and Learning Enhancement Coordinator, Nadine Lee, "Opportunities for learning are offered in a variety of formats throughout the year, including monthly Half-Day School Improvement sessions."

Heinemann Scholar Jessica Lifshitz has been leading Literacy Studio Sessions for staff after school, since last year. She is a fifth-grade teacher at Meadowbrook School; who has been working with author and Heinemann Professional Development provider, Ellin Keene.

"Ms. Lifshitz is an outstanding resource in the area of literacy. She writes a blog on literacy, and has even hosted some District 30 teachers in her Literacy Studio classroom," said Ms. Lee.

Ms. Lifshitz tweeted yesterday, "I am looking forward to more professional development and learning, and bringing literacy studio to life after school at Willowbrook School on November 13."
