Science Competition Team

Practices: Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.

Meeting Location: Room 303

Begins: Late October

Club Sponsor: Ms. Robin Dombeck

Club Description:

If cooperating to compete against other middle schools’ outstanding science, math, and engineering students in a game-style “battle of the brains,”  model car engineering, and other events sound like fun, then maybe Maple’s Science Competition Team is for you! All 6th-8th graders at Maple School are eligible to try out for the Science Team. The Science Team consists of a 5-member Competition Team and up a 5-member Challenger Team. Both the Competition Team and Challenger Teams do the same activities, work and practice together, but only the Competition Team competes in the official regional events. All Science Team students are invited to attend these events. Information about the tryouts will be available in late October.

Attending practices are expected in order to compete. As we progress in the season, additional days may be added so that we will be able to accomplish our team goals. Competition dates will be shared when announced, but are usually on Saturday in January, and a Saturday in March.

*This team is where Maple’s most knowledgeable scientists, engineers, and car designers can shine!*
