Showtime Class Performs "Princess and the Pea" for Kindergartners

Willowbrook School kindergartners were focused, quiet, composed, and respectful during the Maple School student performance of "The Princess and the Pea."

No screens, no video, no phones, no fuss...
The expressions on the children's faces ranged from fascination to reverence, as they watched the fable unfold before their eyes in real time.

Showtime is the name of the popular music class with music teacher Decima Panitch. It involves an edited version of a popular fairy tale turned into a play, which is performed annually by seventh and eighth graders for the younger students.

Child Development Students Work with Kindergarteners

On January 8, Peggy Martin's students in Maple School's Child Development classes assisted in all six of Willowbrook School's kindergarten classes. The Child Development class worked with the younger children at their math and literacy centers; and then participated in more passive activities like drawing, imaginative play, reading, and citing goals in the new year. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed watching the Showtime class performance of "The Princess and the Pea."
