District 30 Listed as Best School District in Illinois

Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 was listed as the best school district in Illinois, in an article titled, “Best School Districts in Every State,” by Nick Selbe with FindTheBest.com (September 8, 2015). Research included data from the U.S. Department of Education using a Smart Rating system, and scored schools on a scale from 1-100. Each state’s selection for “Best School District” was determined by the highest average Smart Rating of all the schools in the district. District 30 was ranked #1 in Illinois and #10 in the nation. Ratings were “primarily based off student math and reading proficiency on state assessment tests, with some institutional factors considered as well, i.e., student:teacher ratio.”

District 30’s schools scored as follows: Maple had a 97 percent Smart Rating; Wescott had a 95 percent Smart Rating; and Willowbrook School had a 95 percent Smart Rating.

The District 30 Community has tremendous pride in our students, staff and programs. There are many different organizations that attempt to rank schools with various algorithms. We are proud to be at the top of this ranking, and we are honored to be counted among the outstanding school districts in our area.
