District 30 Welcomes Quest Food Management Services, Inc. to Maple, Wescott, and Willowbrook Schools!

Quest’s District Manager Rebecca Cohen, MPH, RD, LDN, will be working with District 30 staff, beginning in the fall of 2018, when Quest begins serving lunch to students at Maple, Wescott, and Willowbrook Schools!

Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 is committed to its strategic plan, which was designed to foster the intellectual, physical, and social-emotional growth of all students. The district believes in developing their capabilities, by offering support to help realize each pupil's greatest potential. One of the most important goals is to provide a flexible food service program that provides high-quality meals at lunchtime, so that children are well-nourished and ready-to-learn.

Food Services Search Began with a Survey

After a thorough and inclusive process, which began in the fall of 2017, District 30 made the decision to select a new food service: Quest Food Management Services, which will be effective July 1, 2018.

Through diligent work of the District 30 Food Services Committee, administration conducted a food services survey in the fall of 2017.

The results of the survey clearly indicated that the school community was interested in evolving the district's overall food services program. A notice of a Request for Proposal (RFP) was published in March 2018.  The RFP asked each food services management company to provide their vision for the program, ways in which they would seek to build community with the district, and a financial proposal.

A Formal Recommendation to the Board of Education

After receiving the RFPs, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Brian Wegley appointed a sub-committee to evaluate each proposal, and to conduct site visits to schools currently operated by the RFPs.  At the June 14 Board of Education meeting, this sub-committee made a formal recommendation to partner with Quest Food Management Services, Inc. for the 2018-2019 school year. District 30’s Board of Education unanimously approved this recommendation.

District 30’s administration truly appreciates the work of all of the individuals who have been involved in the food services selection process this past year. They include Nancy Artz, Zivit Blonder, Chris Brown, Catherine Caporusso, Scott Carlson, Melissa Carr, Nate Carter, Betty Holzkopf, Joanna Kaplan, Dianne Larsen, Jen Marsh, Ihab Riad, Brittany Sidoti, Ilene Weil, and Tara Wesselink.
