Maple Mascot

Students are expected to maintain a minimum level of academic achievement with no more than one D or one F prior to tryouts. Students should demonstrate appropriate behavior and good sportsmanship at all times. The coach directs the team selection process. We request that you provide the coach with emergency phone numbers where you may be reached. A tentative schedule is below. In order to participate in practices or games a current physical must be on file with our school nurse. It is the student-athletes responsibility to be sure this is on file.

Please check the athletic calendar for last minute updates by clicking on the link below.
All team tryout dates, practice schedules and team schedules are on the Athletics' Calendar.

Any in-season cancellations due to weather, emergencies, etc. will be announced by the front office as soon as the information becomes available.  Student-athletes will be notified and given the opportunity to contact parents/guardians to notify them of changes.  Please check the Athletics Calendar and Athletics Website regularly to stay up to date with your team's information.

Prior to practicing all forms listed under "Athletic Forms" must be submitted to their coach. If not already completed on InfoSnap during registration. Physicals must be on file with the school nurse.

Athletic Forms

The role of "Manny the Mustang" is to promote Maple School spirit by motivating and entertaining fans.  It is important for the mascot to be a positive role model for the student body at all times.

All participants in the mascot program will have the opportunity to play the role at a variety of school functions (primarily home athletic events).  Due to the secrecy of the mascot, and the number of students involved, we will not be providing a schedule.  Instead, the mascot supervisor(s) will be notifying students individually which events they will be a part of.  The supervisors will also email parents/students the dates.  Due to Covid, 1 student will be selected to particiatpte as the mascot per trimester.  When your child is scheduled for a game, they will play the role of the mascot for one of the two games.  During the other game, they will be an “escort” for another student who will be in the mascot suit. The escort helps to guide the mascot, as it can be difficult to see.  Please make sure that your student is available for both games when they are scheduled, as both roles are very important.  Throughout the year there will be unplanned appearances of the mascot at school.  For these days, the supervisor(s) will draw names of all students in the program in order to determine which student will play the role of the mascot for that day.
