Victor Pacini to Visit All District 30 Schools on January 27, 28, and 31

Victor Pacini will visit District 30 schools on January 27 (Willowbrook), 28 (Wescott), and 31(Maple). He is the founder of Childhood Victories, Inc. Mr. Pacini goes to schools and teaches Erin’s Law, House Bill 6193, which is a law that was signed by Governor Pat Quinn in 2013. It requires that all public schools implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness and prevention curriculum for grades pre-K through 12.

Mr. Pacini is a survivor of sexual abuse, an author, songwriter, singer, and motivational speaker, who will be assisting District 30 schools in implementing this mandate, as he has for the past five years.  His program is developmentally appropriate, interactive, and aligned with learning standards. The focus of the presentation is to teach children the basic skills to keep them safe from dangerous or abusive situations.

Every student will have the opportunity to learn from Mr. Pacini on the aforementioned dates.  Those parents/guardians who prefer that their child/ren opt-out of this program, should email his/her child's/ren's classroom teacher at Wescott and Willowbrook Schools.  For Maple School students, address all emails to Assistant Principal Betty Holzkopf at bholzkopf@district30.org

There are currently 26 states that have passed Erin’s Law into their state legislatures, 17 states that are introducing it into law, and seven states that are in the process of passing Erin’s Law.
