Board of Education Honored for their Dedicated Service on Board Members Day

In honor of Board Members Day on November 15, during the November 14 Board meeting, Superintendent Dr. Brian Wegley thanked each member for their dedication and volunteerism and expressed deep appreciation for their generous service to District 30. He presented them with certificates of recognition and a gift card.

The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) designates November 15 as School Board Members Day. On their website at iasb.com, it states that "Board members transform educational visions into reality."

This year's School Board Members Day theme is "Transform Vision into Reality."

District 30 wholeheartedly appreciates our dedicated Board of Education members: President Ursula Sedlak, Vice President Nancy Artz, and members Keith Karchmar, Daniel Levin, Ammar Rizki, Jeff Zuercher, and Zivit Blonder.

How the Board of Education Works
 
Board of Education meeting agendas are posted 48 hours before a meeting is to take place. They are posted on the Board of Education’s homepage, at Maple, Wescott, and Willowbrook Schools, and District 30’s Administrative Offices.  Board of Education meetings are held once or twice monthly throughout the year. In the summer, they are held once a month in June, July, and August. Throughout the year, board meetings also feature faculty presentations on curriculum, and students and staff are recognized for myriad achievements. Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Brian K. Wegley emails an updated Board of Education Meeting Brief to staff members within 24 hours after a Board of Education meeting has taken place. This information is also highlighted on District 30’s homepage, Board of Education News Page, Facebook, and Twitter.
