Dear District 30 Family,
Thank you for another inspirational year! This year marks my twenty-ninth in the amazing field of education. I continue to be thankful for the investment, kindness, and clear focus on what is best for students that permeates District 30. Collectively, we are creating a community that craves learning, fosters resiliency, and cares deeply for every child; you are amazing. This reality was clearly recognized by our community as District 30 earned the highest grade our consultant has ever seen through our facility survey. Congratulations and thank you!
As a district, we continue our important focus on child-centered instruction and our master facility planning. I am so impressed with our thirst for continued improvement that has included our Lab Classrooms and a roll out of a unit based on the Next Generation Science Standards. Regarding our facilities, we have made significant progress as well. The Citizens’ Task Force has recommended and our Board of Education has voted unanimously to place a $36.3 million question on the April 4 ballot to seek a new Maple School.
As I consider our work within the most important profession on the planet, I am filled with incredible optimism for the future. I can’t help but reflect on Helen Keller’s quote:
Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope or confidence.
Education provides the greatest hope for creating the future we aspire to see. Continue to model, motivate, and generate optimism, hope, and confidence in all you do.
I am honored to serve you as your Superintendent. On behalf of our Administrative Team and our Board of Education, thank you for all you do to benefit our students and enrich each other’s lives. We wish you a relaxing and rejuvenating break that includes meaningful memories with those you love.
