Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Brian Wegley Expresses Deep Appreciation for District 30 Community

Dear District 30 Family,

Thank you to our Board of Directors and all of you who played a role in Saturday's Lew Blond Run. I especially thank the Maple Office Team of Dr. Nate Carter, Betty Holzkopf, Michelle Rosen, Michele Pollina and Lucy Kloss for the tremendous work they did setting the stage for this family event. Thank you to the many District 30 Family members who made this day a reality by stuffing bags, helping manage a function of the day, or simply running in our 16th annual run!

With nearly one thousand runners and hundreds more in attendance, this was an amazing event to behold. Our community's response to the loss of Lew Blond was to attack ALS with the Lew Blond Run. Empowering our students, staff, and community to make a difference has fostered resiliency and has raised nearly $500,000 over the past 16 years. This effort also exemplifies the value we place on relationships and collegiality.

These reflect attributes within our District 30 Echo, for which I also want to share my appreciation. Thank you all for your input into this effort and for your attention as I reviewed it at our recent faculty meetings. Please look it over again in my most recent blog: http://blog.d30.me/bwegley/2016/05/23/the-district-30-echo/

Thank you again to everyone who helped with Saturday's run, and I wish everyone a wonderful upcoming Memorial Day and a great last three weeks of school.

Sincerely,

Brian
